Property Tax:

Property taxes become due on December 1st of the taxable year, and become deliquent on December 31st of the same taxable year.

  • Tax notices are normally mailed the last week of November for that taxable year.
  • If your mortgage company usually pays your property taxes, please forward the notice accordingly.
Property taxes can be paid by mail, using the enclosed return envelope.
  • This office will accept a December 31st postmark if payment is enclosed.

Questions concerning payment dates, amounts paid, refunds, copies of a notice, redemptions or any other question you may have concerning property tax collections, please call the Property Tax Division at 504-363-5710.
 
All other questions concerning your assessment, changing your mailing address, or a homestead exemption should be referred to the Assessor's Office at 504-362-4100. You can also access the Jefferson Parish Assessor's Office
