Major Morgan Nalty started as a Reserve Officer with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office L.A.S.E.R. (Land Air Sea Emergency Rescue) Marine Operations in November 2001. He has been involved with L.A.S.E.R. Search and Rescue operations, dive calls and helicopter operations. The Reserve Officers volunteer their time supplementing the full-time officers in a variety of duties throughout the department. Amongst the thirty-five Reserve Officers in L.A.S.E.R., they donate approximately 600 hours a month to the division. Major Nalty is responsible for supervising and scheduling of personnel, overseeing Marine Search and Rescue Patrol, assisting Reserve Canine and providing support to the Bomb Squad, S.W.A.T. Team and air operations. He was also involved in spearheading the creation of the Deputies Disaster Fund after Hurricane Katrina. |
