Lt. Dieterich began his law enforcement career in Inmate Security Day Watch at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center. In 1997 he completed the Police Academy and later transferred and accepted responsibility for the Kitchen and Warehouse of the Correctional Center. Lt. Dieterich oversees a division of eighteen employees and twenty-five inmates in production of 4000 meals daily, insuring quality and variety. The kitchen is also responsible for maintaining records for approximately one hundred inmates with special diet needs along with cost control in food, labor and equipment. Lt Dieterich maintains and instructs food handling techniques, preparation and the serving of a quality meal. His daily routine consists of training and interacting with inmates, providing them with a skill and understanding of food service as well as implementing proper food handling and security procedures with the correctional officers under his supervision.
