Sgt. Christe Norman has been employed at the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office since November 3, 1998. She started her career in law enforcement in 1993 when she attended the Gretna Police Academy. She worked for Gretna PD in their Reserve Division for two years before transferring to Westwego PD where she worked three years. In 1998 Christe started working for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office on patrol in the 3rd District where she worked for 10 months then transferred to Warrants. In July 2002, she was promoted to Sergeant. She is responsible for seven deputies in Warrants, to ensure they are working their attachments in assigned areas. Sgt. Norman is also responsible for giving deputies prison pick-ups from other agencies. Other daily duties include payroll, daily activity sheets and working on the street attempting to make arrest. The warrant officers are given attachments and attempt to make an arrest. If no contact, they try to develop leads through neighbors or friends.

Sgt. Norman has wanted to be a police officer since age 23. "It has been an interesting five years; the past four have been exciting," said Norman. "I love my job and I plan on doing this until I retire."
