Deputy Lopez began his career at the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in 2001. He completed the police academy in 1998 and began working for the New Orleans Police Department in patrol and as a task force member before he joined the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. Deputy Lopez is assigned to the Second District Patrol Division where his job provides an opportunity to become a well-rounded law enforcement officer. Deputies are assigned a geographic district for purposes of patrolling and responding to calls for service and to carry out a broad scope of proactive law enforcement measures. His responsibilities range from traffic calls, criminal enforcement, assisting other units, to conducting business and resident checks. |
