Sergeant Kim Blanchard began her career with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office on March 20, 1989. Upon completion of the Police Academy, she was assigned to the Third District on patrol. Sergeant Blanchard has worked in the Street Crimes Unit, Second District patrol, and works as a Hostage Negotiator for JPSO. She was promoted to Sergeant while in the patrol division in 1997 and transferred to the Bureau of Revenue and Taxation in 2004. She now serves as a Sergeant in Tax Enforcement, and is responsible for resolving delinquent tax obligations. She monitors delinquent tax accounts, seizes money, wages and property. As the enforcement officer, Kim is responsible for executing writs of seizure, warrants of distraint, levies, business closures, and warrants for arrest involving delinquent taxes.


“I believe that we as police officers do this job to make a positive impact on someone’s life, and I hope that I have accomplished that” said Blanchard.
