Sergeant Mahalia Brathwaite started her career in the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in 2001 assigned to Day Watch Inmate Security. She received her P.O.S.T. Level I certificate in 2002 and then transferred to Classification before returning to Inmate Security. Sergeant Brathwaite is responsible for conducting roll calls, supervision of employees, inmate housing areas and issue work assignments. She monitors inmate movement throughout the facility, custody and control of inmates, as well as being available to perform any task that is required to execute proper function and operation to maintain security. |
