Mark Dupuis
Name: Mark Dupuis
Position: First District Commander

Major Mark Dupuis began his career at the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office working as a cadet at the age of 18. He graduated from the Police Academy in 1983, trained with the Fourth District Patrol, and worked in the Traffic Division as a Deputy, Sergeant and Lieutenant until 2001. In May 2001 Dupuis was promoted to Captain, Second District Commander and November 2003 promoted to Major. In November 2005, Dupuis transferred to the First District as Commander. He is responsible for 73 officers, tracking and managing crime, attending civic association meetings and overseeing field training of new officers and personnel management. He is a Motorcycle Instructor and was one of the first JPSO members of the Motorcycle Competition Team where agencies compete against each other for charity. Currently he is pursuing a Criminal Justice degree at Loyola University in New Orleans.


“I have never been as proud of the men and women of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office as I was during Hurricane Katrina efforts,” said Dupuis.
