Deputy Francine Weaker has been with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office over 15 years as a Reserve Deputy. During that time she has enjoyed a number of challenging positions within L.A.S.E.R. (Land Air Sea Emergency Rescue) Division. Her duties include Canine Search and Rescue, boat duty, DWI check point, security and patrol. Deputy Weaker is very passionate about her canines and their extensive training and ability. The use of dogs in search and rescues is a valuable component in locating missing persons and detecting human scents. She started canine search and rescues in 1992 with a volunteer group on the North Shore and later applied to the JPSO Police Academy and graduated in 1999. When she is not volunteering her spare time to the JPSO, she is an Assistant Attorney for the City of Kenner.
