Deputy Tammy Williams started working for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in November of 2004. She began her law enforcement career as a Correctional Officer before attending the Police Academy in 2006. Upon graduation she was assigned to the Second District Patrol and later transferred to Community Relations, Young Marines Executive Officer. The Young Marines program focuses on character building, leadership and promotes a healthy drug free lifestyle to children and young adults. Deputy Williams teaches respect and discipline and serves as a mentor, she is known as “Momma Tammy”. The Young Marines are very active; they participate in community service and assist the Marine Corp League with senior citizens and train on weekends. A very rewarding program for all involved.
