Emily Cook began working for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in August 2003. Emily is one of our NCIC Operators, NCIC - National Crime Information Center, a computerized index of criminal justice information which includes criminal record history information, fugitives, stolen properties and missing persons. The purpose for maintaining the NCIC system is to provide a computerized database for ready access by a criminal justice agency making an inquiry and for prompt disclosure of information in the system from other criminal justice agencies about crimes and criminals. Emily’s day consist of entering and clearing warrants, stolen vehicles, missing persons and assist with locating these nationwide. She is also responsible for verifying warrants for local and nationwide agencies. |
