Lieutenant
Donald English began his career at the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's
Office in 1976. Upon his completion of the Police Academy,
he was assigned to the Patrol Division. He worked patrol in the Third
District from 1976 to 1984, during this time he was promoted to Sergeant.
He later transferred to the Detective Bureau and during this time he
was involved in many areas, Burglary Intercept and Burglary Theft.
In 1990 he joined the Homicide Division and was promoted to Lieutenant
in 1993. Lt. English graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy
(NA) in 1995. The NA is a, by invitation only, professional course
of study hosted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for U.S. and
international law enforcement leaders. Participants are drawn from
every state in the union, from U.S. territories, and from over 150
foreign nations. Lt. English has many responsibilities in Homicide,
as the Assistant Commander, he oversees all death cases, including
homicides, suicides, unclassified deaths, industrial fatalities and
SIDS (Sudden
Infant Death Syndrome). His daily duties include an overall case management,
conducting interviews, canvass locations for witnesses and collection
of evidence. |
