Captain Ronald Platt has been with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office since 1970. He started his law enforcement career as a dispatcher, then attended the Police Academy and was assigned to patrol where he worked in the First, Second and Third Districts. He also worked as an Investigator in the Detective Bureau. As Commander, Captain Platt manages approximately eighty officers, where he is active in civic meetings, officer training, safety and protecting the citizens. The Second District is part of the recent implemented task force on the West Bank "Quality of Life", a proactive group of officers attempting to prevent crimes. Captain Platt's main goals are to keep one of the busiest districts in Jefferson Parish running smoothly and efficiently.

"The past thirty-seven years of service have been great, however the most exciting challenge has been the past two years as Commander of the Second District," said Platt.
