Detective Donald Cannatella has been employed at the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office since August 16, 1984. Detective Cannatella started his career with the sheriff's office as a cadet. He graduated from the police academy in 1986 and was assigned to the Fourth District patrol, then transferred to the Traffic Division and worked there approximately 10 years. Since then Detective Cannatella has also worked in the L.A.S.E.R. Division as a scuba diver and night shift patrol in the Second District. Recently Detective Cannatella transferred to Juvenile Crime, where he will be responsible for investigating crimes committed by Juveniles.
Detective Cannatella enjoys working with Juveniles and looks forward to his new challenges. "As a patrol officer an initial report is written while handling an incident and the case is handed over to an investigator, working in the detective bureau I will have the opportunity to complete the investigation," said Cannatella. "Working on patrol has been a good experience; I am ready to apply my knowledge and skills learned on the road to investigating."
