SUSPECT ARRESTED IN MURDER INVESTIGATION

Sheriff Newell Normand announces the arrest of JORGE CASTRO-RODRIGUEZ, H/M, 19, of 720 Carrolwood Village, Terrytown LA. Rodriguez was wanted in connection for the shooting death of Ricardo Sosa, found shot to death on July 14, 2013 at 2012 Manhattanh Blvd. in Harvey. Homicide Detective Gabriel Fauchetta developed information identifying Castro-Rodriguez as the shooter in the Sosa murder. A second individual identified by witnesses who reportedly was with Rodriguez on the night of the Sosa murder was identified as QUIROZ –SALAZAR. Detective Faucetta further learned that Salazar has since fled to Honduras to avoid capture.
On July 30, 2013, around 12:28 AM, Detective Faucetta along with additional members of the JPSO conducted disposition checks on addresses on the possible whereabouts of Jorge Castro-Rodriguez. While at 1108 Tensas Street in Bridge City, investigators were directed to 720 Carrolwood Village, Apartment # 317 in Terrytown. It was there Castro-Rodriguez was placed under arrest and transported to the JPSO Criminal Investigation Bureau for questioning. Castro-Rodriguez chose to waive his rights and confessed to shooting Ricardo Sosa during an argument over a female.
Jorge Castro-Rodriguez was transported to the JPCC where he was booked with one count of Second Degree Murder in the death of Ricardo Sosa.
