As you can see, all of the robberies have occurred on different days, and the time of occurrence vary. The most important aspect of these incidents is they all occurred on both sides of Interstate 10, within several blocks of each other in a fairly concentrated area. Most of the victims were either entering or exiting vehicles in the parking areas of apartment complexes at the aforementioned addresses. Many of the victims are foreign with three being Hispanic males, one being a Hispanic female. Another victim was a male of Middle Eastern or Asian descent. We also had two victims who were black females.

Through victim/witness interviews, our Robbery Detectives believe these robberies may not all be connected to one individual group of suspects. This information was based on the facts the suspects are described in each incident varied from two or three. In some robberies, all three suspects are described as Hispanic males. In one robbery, the suspects were described as a white female and two Hispanic males. The first robbery was committed by two black males and a third male, believed to be Hispanic. In two of the robberies, the weapons are a combination of guns and knives. The most commonly described handgun is a black semi-automatic handgun. In one of the robberies, the victim reported being struck in the face with a handgun resulting in minor injuries. It is also important to note that in several of the incidents, the suspects spoke to the victims in Spanish.

The white female is described as 25 to 35 years of age, 5’5” to 5’6”, 150 to 170 pounds with a round face. The Hispanic males range in height from 5’0” to 6’0” and most are either thin or medium build, one was heavy build. The Hispanic males are described as having short black hair. On one occasion they were described as having short facial hair. The black males are described as 20 to 25 years of age, 5’9” to 6’0”.

In each of the robberies where a suspect vehicle was seen, the vehicle descriptions also varied greatly. From a mid-size SUV, black in color, with tinted windows, a 2001 to 2003 Ford F-150, four door, blue or green in color also with tinted windows, a compact four-door vehicle, white in color with a sticker on the outer rear trunk of a cross symbol – in one case, a white vehicle was described as a Toyota Corolla

As a result of these incidents, we have increased patrols in and around the apartment complexes where the incidents have occurred. The District Commanders where these incidents are occurring requested the assistance of our Street Crimes Unit to aid in this matter as well.

Anyone with information relatives to these robberies or who may know the identities of any of the suspects involved, is asked to contact Lieutenant Bruce Harrison, Commander, JPSO Robbery Section at 504-364-5300 or Crimestoppers.
