TWO INMATES FROM THE BRIDGE CITY CENTER FOR YOUTHS ESCAPE

On March 24, 2012, around 5:30 PM, our officers responded to the Bridge City Center For Youths located 3225 River Road in Bridge City, in reference to two juvenile inmates who according to BCCY staff, escaped from the facility around 4:38 PM, today.
The escapees are identified as Clarence McWilliams, B/M, 18, and Demonte Washington, B/M, 15. Both McWilliams and Washington are cousins and are from the Baton Rouge area.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of these two escapees, are asked to call 911 or Crimestoppers.
On March 25, 2012, our 911 Center received a call reporting subjects walking along the canal bank near the 2800 block of the Westbank Expressway in Avondale. First responding Officer William West spotted two black male subjects fitting the description of McWillliams & Washington. As Officer West approached the subjects, they both began to flee. A short foot pursuit ensued, at which time, Clarence McWillliams and Demonte Washington were found hiding in a shed in the rear yard of 317 Elsa Drive in Avondale. Assisting JPSO Third District Officers engaged the suspects who attempted to flee a second time. After a brief struggle, both were placed under arrest.
McWilliams was transported to the JPCC, while Washington (being a juvenile) was tansported to the Jefferson Parish Juvenile Assessment Center. Each was booked with Simple Escape (BCCFY), Resisting Arrest by Flight & Fight, along with Criminal Trespassing.
