Opioid Abuse Awareness Day

On July 8, 2017, members of the Sheriff's Office participated in the DEA-New Orleans "Opioid Addicition Awareness Day" with the New Orleans Baby Cakes at the Shrine on Airline.  Sheriff Normand threw out a first pitch with DEA Special Agent in Charge Craig Wiles and St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne.  Members of our Crime Lab, Community Relations, and Communications Divisions all set up displays for the attendees.  We would like to thank the DEA-New Orleans Field Office and SAC Wiles for inviting us, and hopefully the event served to call attention to a serious problem facing our community.
